Complete Roman headstud brooch dating to the 2nd century. The brooch has a circular wire headloop with an enamelled rectangular collar below; this is decorated with two inverted semi circles and red enamel. At the head of the brooch there is a large void where there was once a stud of some sort - this was probably enamelled and may have been functional although many were merely for decoration. Large copper alloy Roman brooch. The brooch has a large circular integral headloop with a flat cast collar below; this has three latitudinal grooves. The brooch has no wings but there is a large hole running through the head where the hinged pin mechanism would have been. It is possible that the wings were separate and somehow attached through this hole too. The opening in the hinge case for the pin is off centre. The brooch weighs 26.47g and measures 66.52mm in length, 16.72mm in width and 21.7mm in thickness.

Copper alloy Roman finger ring with blue intaglio with figure, probably dating from the 2nd - 3rd centuries. The finger ring has a large decorative cast bezel area with simple moulding at either side of the oval bezel. The lower part of the hoop is narrow with a semi-circular section. The blue glass intaglio is quite worn but depicts a standing figure with one arm raised and the other lowered. The intaglio has been reattached by the finder. The ring weighs 7.6g and measures 24.42mm in length, 23.26mm in width and 8.62mm in thickness.

Copper alloy complete Roman pin. The pin has a cylinder shaped head with a plain collar underneath. The head is decorated around the side with spiral grooves and the top is flat. The pin tapers from the head down to a fine point at the end, it is completely straight and intact; this type of pin is thought to have been used as a hairpin. The pin weighs 7.41g and measures 120.3mm in length, and 6.76mm in thickness (across the pinhead).

Copper alloy object, possibly the base of a Roman seal box. The object is circular with a raised edge. The bottom has a kidney shaped hole and there are various fittings around the outside edge of the piece. Protruding from the side there is a broken loop this is likely to be part of the hinge mechanism for the lid. There is also a sub-square perforation with a collar around it on the outside edge. The objects weighs 9g and measures 27.5mm in diameter (including the hinge), and 8.9mm in thickness.

The mount has cast recessed decoration on the front; this comprises an eight-spoked sun burst design at the centre and a pellet in each corner with a comma shape above each one. The mount has a foot at each end with iron deposits on both probably from attachment. The mount measures 30.6mm in length, 10.08mm in width, 7.49mm in thickness and weighs 8.14g.

The wings are rectangular in shape with four longitudinal grooves down each one giving a stepped appearance. Part of a 1st century Roman plate brooch, dating from AD50-150. It is cast from copper alloy and is decorated with coloured enamel. The front of the brooch has a small circular hole at the centre where there would have originally been a protruding knop - this may have been cast separately and therefore has been lost from the brooch. The hoop is of circular section and has an internal diameter of 17mm and has a thickness of 3.1 – 3.5mm. The bezel is open-backed and the hoop divides into two curving arms of D-shaped section (1mm wide by 2-3mm deep) which define an oval opening (internal: 8.6 x 5.7mm, external:12.2 x 8.3mm). The bezel is off-set from the hoop. The fitting weighs 3.6g.

Medieval lead alloy shield shaped weight, 56mm long, 40mm wide and 14mm thick. The object has a grey/white patina and is in good condition. It has a rectangular section with slightly tapering sides. It has a central suspension loop in its upper surface which is decorated with what appear to be plantagenet lions in a raised border 5mm wide. The lions are unusual, they resemble monkeys more than lions and are facing the wrong way! perhaps a contemporary fake?

RIC IV, Pt II, p. 140, no. 7a; BMC VI, p. 222, no. 1. This coin has the early bust of Maximinus, before the die-engravers knew his actual looks. This coin is damaged with the damage respecting the portrait of the emperor on the obverse. This suggests that the coin may have been deliberately cut.

A copper alloy hooked, or looped fitting of 'socketed hook' type. The loop is made up of two bars, the front one of which bears incised decoration. Above the loop, the bars are joined by a 'D' shaped ring which forms an open socket measuring 8 by 12.5mm. There is a flat plate on at the junction of the front bar and the socket. This bears a worn, incised cross motif defined by a double outline. The incised lines appear to contain traces of a whitish substance which may be remains of white metal inlay. Early 11th Century Anglo-Scandinavian copper alloy, cast, tubular, open-work, 'socketed hook' (Length 44mm). Once with a hook terminal that connected it into a disc shaped element with at least two other similar fittings forming a three way strap junction. Very worn surface but the faint remnant of a possible concentric square moulded decoration on the 'head' and with a scalloped upper surface. The central section is slightly curved as a result of being crudely cast or possibly distorted under strain during use. The curved tip of the hook broken away in antiquity.

Copper alloy hooked object of Early Medieval date comprising a main plate with an open socket on the reverse with an incomplete hook beneath. The plate expands at one end to form a generally semi-circular terminal (L. 12mm. W. 16.4mm. Th. 4.3mm). The reverse is slightly concave and the upper surface convex.
