An incomplete copper-alloy object, all that remains of this object is a suspension loop with a small fragment of its shaft. It measures 12.4mm in total length and the loop itself is 6.8mm in diameter with a circular hole through its centre. The loop is set at right angles to the remains of the shaft and there is a trace of gilding at this point. The larger object that this suspension loop derives from is unknown, however, the fact that it is set at right angles to the shaft and has gilding on it could imply that it is the suspension loop from a medieval harness pendant. There is nothing quite like this in Metcalf's Thrymsas and Sceattas, but the obverse resembles some Series Q obverses and the reverse would not look out of place in Series R. Series Q and its mules is a very varied and eclectic group".

Miniature lead vessel. The vessel is in the form of a cylindrical pot or tub. There are two vertical ribs around the body each with a damaged area half way up it, perhaps indicating the presence of handles or lugs. The base has a pellet in the centre, and the surrounding concentric lines look as if the vessel has been turned. There is a horizontal slit in the side of the vessel which may be intentional rather than damage.

County: Essex

Lithic implement: Hazel Martingell notes: This Palaeolithic handaxe is, so far, the first from Halstead, Essex. It is a very nice patinated and rolled example. They can be dated to the time between 500,000 and 200,000 BP. It is 100.3mm long, 72.5mm wide, 37.1mm thick and weighs 258.10g. The flint is mid brown with lighter brown patches. There is beige- white patination to one side. A cobble flint with some flake removals was also found at this location and is possibly the early stages of production of a hand axe. However it is too undiagnostic to date accurately.

In the absence of such an inscription or an identifiable maker's mark, there is no evidence to date this ring pre 1705. The stone is cracked (Judy Rudoe, British Museum, 10th October 2005).
