A flint end scraper of probable early Neolithic date. The tool is roughly oval in shape and has been made from a flake struck from a core. A portion of the core's striking platform remains at the bottom. The upper surface of the object is convex and has several vertical arrises. The upper edge (opposite the striking platform remnant) has been retouched to form the scraping edge. There is no evidence of working along the two long sides. Incomplete copper alloy medieval ornate buckle. The frame of the buckle is oval in plan with a semicircular section. To the front of the frame are four integral knops. The reverse of the buckle is flat and plain. The frame is broken to one side, with approximately one half-missing. The buckle is abraded but most of the original surface survives with a dark green patina. There are small patches of lighter green where the surface is damaged. Incomplete copper alloy buckle, probably medieval. This buckle frame is trapezoidal in plan. The two sidebars of the frame are rectangular in section. Placed approximately one third along each arm is an integral semicircular flange with a circular perforation, presumably so that a bar could be fixed between the two opposing sides of the frame. A medieval badge in the form of a crowned, Lombardic letter "M". Badges if this type were commonly produced in base metal in the 14th and 15th centuries to signify devotion to the Virgin Mary. This example is silver and dates from the C15 (Brian Spencer, Pilgrim Souvenirs and Secular badges, Museum of London 1998, pp 155-157). An incomplete copper alloy strapend [Thomas Class A] dating to the ninth century AD. The strapend comprises a single, flat, approximately triangular piece of copper alloy. The attachment end is missing. The body of the strap end is decorated with a sub rectangular panel of cast interlace decoration. This decoration is very worn. An incised line runs from each point of the fork, continuing up the shaft, to both surfaces. The break on the shaft is almost horizontal. A V- or U-shaped copper-alloy strap-end terminating in a (damaged) hook at the point of the 'V'. The worn front of the fitting has an engraved Ringerike-style design around the curve of the U, with an animal head occupying each arm. The animals are identical, with with a double-grooved collar at the neck, elliptical eyes and a wide gaping mouth clasping each arm of the object.
