Copper alloy clapper bell. Badly damaged, distorted, with the body torn and with a section missing. Dome shaped with two small (3mm diameter) circular sound holes towards the top. Cast copper alloy buckle chape / strap end union from a two part buckle of later post-medieval date (1600 - 1720). The chape is formed from a single sub-rectangular cast copper alloy sheet. This sheet has been cut and folded around an iron (due to the orange staining from iron corrosion) axis bar to form both the pin of the buckle and the hinge to attach the pin to the buckle. The rear of this sheet has been cut to form a tapering and expanding design, with a rounded terminal. Through this terminal a single cast copper alloy rivet is passed to secure the buckle to a leather strap. The …

The figurine has an incised decoration on the front and the two long sides, and although not quite symmetrical in pattern,…

Two Roman samian pottery sherds (of the same piece) from the base of a flat-bottomed bowl or plate.
The nature of the fabric - which is mid orangey-red in colour with small calcareous inclusions and has a dark reddish-brown slip - may indicate an eastern Gaulish origin.
The two sherds when pieced together measure 42mm long by 39.9mm wide and 6.3mm thick. They weigh 10.77g
