Lead pot mend. The object is roughly circular in plan with a concave base and and a domed smaller inner head. The concave base has some patches of regular hatching, which might be the impression caused by cloth wrapped over a stick or similar item, pressed into the lead whilst it was still semi-molten in order to apply pressure to the mend. There is still some ceramic remaining sandwiched between the mend. The ceramic is 3mm thick, with a oxidised reddish outer surface and grey-blue interior. The ceramic would appear to be Medieval in date, however there is too little left to be certain.

A fragment of an antler, incomplete due to old breaks at both ends. It measures 72mm in length and 28mm in width with a thickness of 14mm. This antler fragment does not appear to have been worked and is likely to just be a stray loss, however, it could be a by product of antler working, or have been lost before it was worked. Therefore it is recorded in case any other antler fragments worked or otherwise are found on this site in the future.

A well-made seal matrix with a circular base and hexagonal handle tapering to a triple collar with a trifoliate suspension loop above with circular drilled aperture. Device of hare riding a dog, facing left. Hare may be holding a hunting-horn; drawing not very clear. 24 mm high. The central device is part of the popular "the world upside down" group. The legend was originally read as ALAS BONVS but is more likely to be one of the variants on an ALAS BOWLES motto, which is currently mysterious in meaning.

NB - this items lacks the area with the definitive rebate for a tongue in jews' harps and the profile differs from those of complete examples. It may well therefore be a completely different category of object. A copper-alloy Jews' Harp. The instrument is broken, missing half of its rounded head and one of its arms. The remaining arm is quite short at 19 mm in length. The shape of what remains of the head is also quite unusual, projecting out to the side further than on most examples. As on most examples discovered in the ground the iron tongue, which would be twanged to create a soun…
