Cast copper alloy strap fitting with integral lugs and white metal coating. Sub-rectangular plate with tri-lobed ends and central constriction, with foliate decoration. Blunt lug at either end on the reverse, both bent inwards. Tracs of tinning or silvering on all surfaces, including the lugs and reverse. Probably 16th-17th century. Length 29.54mm, width 13.4mm, thickness (including spikes) 13.04mm, thickness across plate c.1.6mm, maximum thickness of strap c.9mm, weight 5.38g.

A cast copper-alloy sword belt fitting. The flat asymmetrical plate has an elongated trefoil terminal, which is waisted to a drop-shaped central area. This central area then expands to oval area which then tapers to an integral hook with a rounded knop on then end. There is a rivet hole in the trefoil area and another in the oval area, both of are filled with iron residue. The plate is decorated with incised scrolled foliage. Hanging from the hook is a fragment of a separate pendant fitting. Only the oval loop of the pendant survives. The length is 50.1mm, the maximum width is 21.1mm …

Fragment of a cast copper alloy sword belt fitting or mount of Post Medieval, seventeenth century date (AD 1600 - AD 1700). Length 26.5mm, width 27mm and 2mm thick. Weight 6.18g. The fragment is slightly convex at the front and is plain at the rear. there are two integral suspension loops. However, most of one of these is missing and there are, consequently, two old breaks. An almost complete copper alloy strap mount in the form of an acorn. Probable sixteenth or seventeenth century date (AD 1500 - AD 1700). Length 24mm, width 11.5mm and 2mm thick. Weight 2.34g. The mount is convex at the front and flat at the rear. At the front the seed (or fruit) is plain. One part of a two-part copper-alloy toggle clasp. The object has a rope-like head with a rivet hole beneath it. Below the rivet hole there is a large open circle and another rivet hole beneath. The sides of the object are decorated with crescents and ridges. There is a raised section towards the bottom which looks like two solid crescents. There is a broken shank below this. Cf. Read (2008) Hooked Clasps and Eyes, p. 208, no. 753.

The plate is roughly rectangular in shape with one rounded terminal end, with the integral hook projecting from the centre of this end and a shaped end, with two concave U-shapes. Cast copper alloy belt fitting, length 28mm, width 11mm, thickness 5mm, weight 2.86. Rectangular plate with a rounded forward edge, with a knop terminal, this may be an acorn but it is very corroded. The opposite terminal is a concave triangle with a rectangular projection in the centre giving the same shape as the attachment end of a barbed and tanged arrowhead. A copper alloy sword belt mount, the main plate [70mm by 30mm] of which has fleur de lis shaped ends with rivet hole in each. The lower edge has three perforated lugs. One of these still has the pendant fitting consisting of a plate, 45mm long & 17mm wide with curved edges terminating in a rod which loops through the hole and is bent back on itself. Traces of foliar designs can be seen under the soil on the object. A similar belt mount from West Somerset has been dated to the 16th century(Read 2001, p43 no 373).

A cast copper alloy sword belt strap fitting. The plate is ornately moulded; there is a rivet hole in the top of fitting. The front surface is slightly worn but the moulded decoration still can be seen. The lower part of the fitting has broken off. There is some iron staining on the broken end. The reverse is undecorated. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour. Sword belt fittings of this type date to the 16th –17th century.
