An incomplete and distorted medieval lead-alloy seal matrix.
The matrix is pointed-oval in plan, with an engraved fleur-de-lis device at the centre of its die. The legend surrounds this design and, when printed, appears to extend clockwise from 12 o'clock. Damage has rendered this legend largely indecipherable and the only legible part is the beginning, which reads ' +S' ('Seal of').
