Medieval circular seal matrix with a diameter of 27mm. Cast in copper alloy this matrix has a ridge on the reverse, which is triangular in profile with a central circular hole for suspension. The matrix has a central lozenge shape, possibly a shield, with a floral design. An incised line borders either side of the legend, however no impression was provided thus legend remains unknown.

Three quarters of a lead circular seal matrix. Missing section is probably the very top of the matrix, meaning that the legend is illegible at that point. Back appears to have been flat and plain, although there may have been a small protrusion at the centre back. Thickened section above may be the flattened remains of the suspension loop. Device: Remains of an eight-petalled compass flower.
Measurements: 30 mm x 26 mm; original diameter 30 mm plus.

Two adjoining pieces of a lead circular seal matrix, some 85% of the total. Missing section is the bottom right, but the edge is also damaged at the top left, meaning that the legend is illegible at that point. Back retains evidence of a cast design, possibly a small fleur-de-lys or double loop in the centre. Small raised section above is the remains of the base of the suspension loop. Device: remains of an eight-petalled compass flower, with the breaks being along the flower petals.
Measurements: larger piece (almost exactly half of the original matrix); 32 mm x 18 mm; smaller piece:…

A small copper alloy vesica-shaped (pointed oval) seal matrix, back plain with raised midrib and suspension loop at top. Device: the matrix makes best sense when turned at 90 degrees to the vertical. Device is a wyvern looking back over its shoulder; it is probably intended to be standing on its two limbs. Tail is curved into a loop behind. Lettering area is delineated by a neat beaded line above and below.
Measurements: 12 mm x 22 mm.

A copper alloy seal matrix with a tapering hexagonal handle and circular suspension loop with top point. The matrix face is ovoid, its centre offset to one side from the vertical running from the top of the handle. Device of a bird with barred body and semi-raised wing walking left. The lettering area is separated from the device by a fine line, and a similar line delineates the outer edge of the matrix.
Measurements: face 15 mm (horizontal measurement runs broadly through bird's chest to tail) x 17 mm; approx. 20 mm tall.

Description: Unseen, recorded from photographs. Copper alloy, circular seal matrix, flat back with intact suspension loop at top. Device: the Agnus Dei (lamb of God) A lamb, facing right, looking back over its shoulder at a staff. The lamb's left foreleg is folded under him as he genuflects. The top of the staff extends into the lettering area, and forms the cross which opens the legend, whilst the base disappears from view behind the lamb's back. A three-tailed banner flies from the staff on the left. Device is separated from the legend by a line; a similar line marks the outer edge o…

Lead circular seal matrix, damaged across centre due to being folded in centre. Back plain, with no suspension loop remaining; may have been at top originally. Device: in profile, a bird of prey (identifiable by its hooked beak) facing left, its wings are raised as when landing or taking off. The legs are positioned in such a way as to suggest that it is running, which accords with the idea of landing or take-off. Legend separated from device by a line.
Measurements: 38 mm diameter.

Copper alloy circular seal matrix, plain flat back with slight raised midrib suspension loop intact at top. Device of a knight on horseback, sword in raised right hand, looking (?) back over his shoulder. He appears to be wearing a rather short mail hauberk, a fully developed 'great helm' and carrying a tapered 'knightly sword' (hilt indistinct). He wears a long surcoat but his horse is unadorned. There is some sort of cuff indicated on the sword hand. The whole is placed above a fleur-de-lys, with what appears to be a crescent between the sword arm and the horse's raised tail. Device…

Over this she wears a cloak of equal length; the cord joining the two ends is visible across her throat, above the low round neckline of her dress. Her feet are visible under the edge of the gown. A cast lead seal matrix, which has been chip carved. The seal matrix is a pointed oval type. The die of the matrix is flat and oval in shape. On the reverse of the die there is a small rounded, unpierced lug position at the ‘top’ of the matrix (the lug relates to the position of the initial mark – indicating the beginning of the legend; showing the user of the matrix which way around to hold the seal matrix). The edges of the seal matrix have been damaged and this has lead to some of the legend being removed.
The die depicts an elaborate fleur-de-lis. The initial mark, which is…
