A small lead or lead alloy fragment which, due to its style, may have been part of a small long Anglo-Saxon brooch, lead Saxon brooches may be models for an early stage of the casting process or copies in a cheaper material. This fragment has a square central panel, c10.7mm by c10.7mm in size, which has a central recessed circle, this is small for a central panel, no copper-alloy parallel with so small a central panel could be found. One wing survives and is crescent shaped, measuring 11.2mm in length and 14.1mm in width. The remains of the other wings and the rest of the brooch ca…

A lead object, almost certainly a pattern for a Roman bow brooch. The object comprises an faceted and arched bow with a rib or flashing running vertically down its centre. At one end, the object flattens to a forward facing foot. At the other, there is a hollow arched section with folded over terminals perhaps intended to act as the brooch head. The object measures 40mm in length, 12mm in width, has a thickness of 9mm and a weight of 16.2g

Single lead knob from a cruciform brooch. This has the half-round section characteristic brooches of Ã…berg's Groups II to IV. The back of the knob is hollow, forming a 2.8mm deep recess. A deep groove divides the knob into two sections and it terminated in small projection from the center of which a hole runs through the knob. This would have accommodated one end of the iron pin which passed through the brooch's coiled spring. Surviving length 12mm, Width 11mm

This fragment has a surviving length of 29.8mm and a maximum width of 11.3mm. It bears all of the decorative elements seen on cruciform brooches; a groove down the back of the bow, faceting and incised lines, the latter cut with a sharp instrument. It is likely, but not certain, that the brooch was shaped by casting before the decoration was added. On the underside of the bow is a narrow groove and a projection which probably represents the catch-plate. As both the foot and the head of the brooch are missing it is impossible to assign it to any group.
