An incomplete early-medieval cast lead strap end. The tongue shaped strap end is rendered in Winchester style. Although some damage has occurred to the decoration, the symmetrical ornament of a central stem of an acanthus plant with scroll branches is still visible. The length is 26.8mm, the width is 22.7mm and the weight is 12.57g.

Fragment of a circular lead brooch, very worn. triangular geometic pattern around the outer edge with a circular wave pattern inside the inner circle of the brooch. dimensions: 29.1mm, width 17.2mm thickness 2mm, weight 4.17g.
This brooch was allocated by Rosie Weetch to Type 32, unknown/other plate brooch, but from the drawing it seems as if it must be a Type 13, the stepped type. These date to the 11th century.

A complete cast lead-alloy medieval spindle whorl. The biconical circular spindle whorl has a large central perforation with a diameter of 4.3mm. Both faces are decorated with raised radiating lines with large pellets in between. The external diameter is 22.1mm, the thickness is 4.4mm and the weight is 41.26g.

About half of a pewter spoon bowl from the handle end. The handle is sub-rectangular in section. The bowl is distorted but broad and shallow. A mark on the upper side near the handle depicts a key between the initials RI, a pewter mark known from the sixteenth century.

Circular domed lead piece. Circular lead object with domed top and flat bottom. On the top there is a score mark on the curve of the dome. On the underside is a distinct spiders-web pattern, consisted of 18 lines starting from the outside edge finishing in the center of the circle and then a crude spiral over the top of the lines. It measure 20.22mm in diameter, 11.32mm thick and weights 29.87g.

Early Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 33mm in diameter and 8mm thick and weighing 41.63 grams.
The whorl is circular in form with a D shaped cross section. with a central hole which is 10mm in diameter. There is no sign of any decoration on any surface.
The whorl fits Walton Rogers form A1, which she dates to 500-1000AD.

The object is flat and circular in shape and has been folded and squeezed to form a semi-circle. There is a circular piercing in the object. This identification is based on comparison with other lead-alloy coin copies from the same assemblage.

Cast lead/tin alloy incomplete aviary or cage bird food or water trough with flat bottom, and flared top half with moulded band and rim. The body of the vessel has been pushed out by the finder after having been flattened in the soil, so that it is now semi-circular in plan. There is a small perforation in the middle of the back of the vessel, which was probably used to suspend the feeder within the cage.
Read (1988) illustrates and similar example on page 98, number 606, which is dated to the 15th century.

A fragment from a lead-alloy pilgrim badge of probable 14th or 15th century AD date. Although only a very small part of the original piece, this fragment can be closely paralleled with a largely complete example from Salisbury (Spencer 1990, 72; fig. 32) which shows the central image of St Thomas (Becket) flanked on either side by an angel. The legend was originally recorded as SR ROBERTI REYNAUD but from the sketch it looks more like + ROBERTI REINAVD or, perhaps more likely, + S ROBERTI REINAVD (Seal of Robert Reynold). A cast lead alloy spindle whorl with ring and dot decoration, dating from the late medieval period. It has two flat faces and its central perforation, which has a slightly raised lip on each side, measures 7.6mm. Each face is decorated with five ring and dot motifs, which are not quite equally spaced. The surface has flaked off the object in several places. Lead spindle whorls were made from the Roman period onwards, but decorated examples generally date from the late medieval period.
