Trade weight - 22mm diameter circular lead weight with a large 'A' denoting the avoirdupois weighing system which is thought to have come into use in the 13th century and continued in use up to the 20th century. It is exactly 25 grams in weight which is lighter than the 28.4 grams it should be. The weight is slightly battered but intact and is not corroded.

It is also sub-rectangular in cross section. The front face has beveled edges and a central raised panel. At the top of the weight, positioned in the upper centre is a small oval cast tapering hole. The weight is circular with a flat base and top; the sides taper slightly from the base to the top giving an overall truncated conical shape. The weight has a copper decorated flat copper alloy mount in the top surface known as a single strike Pressbletch mount.
