Measures 63.65mm x 39.66mm, maximum thickness 10.86mm. 2) Rim. Grog and shell tempered. Measures 45.28mm x 23.53mm; thickness 8.57mm. 3) Base. Grog tempered. A cast copper alloy sub-triangular stirrup strap mount. The attachment loop and flange are complete. The mount is undecorated and has two circular perforations above the flange. These are slightly out of line with each other. The edges of the triangle are more angular in shape than most mounts of this type. It is possible that this example is a repair or cheaper imitation of the more usual highly decorated examples. The surface has a patchy brown to green patina. This mount dates to the 11th century AD.

A cast copper alloy strap slide or mount. It is dumbbell shaped with faceted terminals and chamfered edges. The mount is decorated with a border of punched circles bounding incised decoration of half-moons and pellets. There are two spikes on the reverse, both broken, which may have once formed a rectangular attachment loop. The surface has a dark green patina with areas of reddish corrosion. From the decorative style it is likely to be Roman in date.
