Romano-British Plate brooch, oval, broken outer edge, sexfoil comprising circular central cell containing greenish decayed remains of enamelling, radiating foils and border of zig-zag line between concentric line and outside edge, remains of orange/red enamelling. Remains of double pin-lug on reverse, most of other lug for catch-plate missing. 32 x 34mm. 2nd century AD.

Medieval copper alloy book clasp of Howsam type A.8.1. Rectangular plate folded widthways, with recesses cut at the fold to form a central loop. Upper plate notched at corners to form trefoils at all corners, with additional central notch in attachment end, pierced by copper alloy rivet at each corner and larger central perforation, 20 x 37mm.
Compare NMS-894C88, NMS-DBF206 SF6887. Composite hinged book clasps in Egan (1998 fig.214, no. 925) are dated to the 14th-15th century.

Medieval fragment very probably from a processional cross, broken and distorted, part of heavily-cast concave-sided circular frame (diameter 60mm) with offset flange on inside edge and projecting elaborate openwork elaborate quatrefoil, each foil with circular perforation and elongated projecting lobe between foils on three outer edges, cracked and bent around onto side. The frame is pierced by a single copper alloy rivet with burred-over head. The quatrefoil has engraved linear decoration on both sides. 15th century.
