An incomplete copper-alloy La Tene III type brooch. The flat drop-shaped bow diminishes to a pointed foot. The bow is decorated with a central vertical panel of incised zigzag lines and an incised line along each border. The spring is missing. The complete catchplate has a length is 16.3mm and a width of 7.3mm. The surviving length is 49.0mm, the width is 10.5mm and the width is 2.15g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman dolphin brooch. The plain tubular wings conceal a hinged pin mechanism. Only a fragment of the copper-alloy pin survives. The humped bow has a triangular moulding on the top and tapers to a plain pointed foot. The short complete catchplate has a length of 11.4mm and the width is 4.6mm. The length of the brooch is 27.1mm, the width is 16.7mm and the weight is 2.89g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman headstud brooch. The head conceals a tubular casting for a hinged pin mechanism. The pin is missing, but the iron axis bar is visible from each end of the tubular casting. On the top of the head was once an integrally cast chain loop. All that remains of the chain loop is the collar with two transverse ribs on the front. Both the wings are plain except for a vertical groove at the wing tip. Fragment of a circular lead brooch, very worn. triangular geometic pattern around the outer edge with a circular wave pattern inside the inner circle of the brooch. dimensions: 29.1mm, width 17.2mm thickness 2mm, weight 4.17g.
This brooch was allocated by Rosie Weetch to Type 32, unknown/other plate brooch, but from the drawing it seems as if it must be a Type 13, the stepped type. These date to the 11th century.

A fragment from a cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon jewelled disc brooch. The surviving quarter panel of the flat circular brooch is decorated with a gilded Style II animal design. The interlacing animal has horizontal ribs on the ribbon-like body. His snake-like head is on the top right of the panel though it is now quite worn. On either side of the decorated panel is an incomplete plain field with an empty circular setting near the outer edge of the brooch. An almost complete cast copper-alloy Roman headstud brooch. The head conceals a tubluar casting with a hinged pin mechanism. The copper-alloy pin is bent to one side and broken halfway down the shaft. The copper-alloy axis bar also forms the swivelling wire chain above the head. Treasure reference 2017 T1055: a medieval silver gilt annular brooch dating to the 13th or 14th century.
Description
This report concerns a medieval silver gilt annular brooch, found in two parts nearly seventeen years apart. The larger of the two fragments was discovered on the 15th June 2000 and recorded by Marina Elwes as NLM-DA8752, while the smaller was found on the 23rd April 2017 and recorded by Adam Daubney.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy annular brooch. Only half of the flat circular frame survives and has three large integral circular knobs. The surface of the frame is quite worn and is almost completely covered with a coating of sand. The surviving external diameter is 35.4mm, the width of the frame is 6.7mm and the weight is 7.01g.
