A slightly incomplete and clipped struck/ hammered silver halfgroat of Henry VIII, minted by Archbishop Edward Lee in York between AD 1530-1544 (diameter: 19mm; thickness: 0.2mm; weight: 1.24g). The coin is slightly worn and in a good condition.

The coin is a halfgroat of Henry VIII. The coin may be a contempory copy. One edge is broken, and appears to reveal two fine sheets of silver plating, with an insertation of a copper alloy disc inbetween. The copper alloy disc is red in colour and may be silver corrosion.
