Copper alloy clapper bell. Badly damaged, distorted, with the body torn and with a section missing. Dome shaped with two small (3mm diameter) circular sound holes towards the top. The 'handle' is not a loop, but two triangular in-turned loops - these are not part of a worn loop. Two areas of iron corrosion at the top inside the bell - some iron can be seen on the outside of th bell, corresponding to one of these. Probably Medieval. Possibly Roman or early medieval. Length (height) 41.88mm, width (damaged) 32.90mm, thickness (damaged) 28.76mm, weight 27.74g.

It is an irregular shape in plan and sub rectangular (square with a flared neck) in profile. The container was probably D-shaped before being damaged. Fragment from a cast copper alloy crotal or rumbler bell of probable post-medieval date (1500-1800). The fragment is from the upper hemisphere of the bell and consists of the suspension loop and part of the surrounding bell. The fragment is irregular in plan and profile. The suspension loop is rectangular with a square shaped hole. The fragment measures 20.8mm length, 21.2mm width, is 16.6mm high, and the metal is loop 3.9mm and bell 1.7mm. It weighs 6.74 grams. Cast copper alloy buckle chape / strap end union from a two part buckle of later post-medieval date (1600 - 1720). The chape is formed from a single sub-rectangular cast copper alloy sheet. This sheet has been cut and folded around an iron (due to the orange staining from iron corrosion) axis bar to form both the pin of the buckle and the hinge to attach the pin to the buckle. The rear of this sheet has been cut to form a tapering and expanding design, with a rounded terminal. A flint thumbnail scraper which probably dates from the early Bronze Age. The scraper has been made from a small regular flake, from which the bulb of percussion has been removed. There are fint ripples on the ventral surface and a number of flaking scars on the dorsal surface. The edges of the dorsal surface has been retouched all around the distal end and partially along both sides, probably by pressure flaking. A greensand chert secondary waste flake which may be of Neolithic or early Bronze Age date. At the proximal end is the striking platform, and immediately below this on the ventral side are the bulb of percussion and very faint ripples. At the distal end is a small piece of nodule cortex. A rim sherd of Roman samian ware, probably from a steep-sided bowl or cup, possibly similar to a Dragendorff type 33 (P.Webster, 1996, p.45) vessel. The fabric is light pinkish-orange and has a dark reddish-brown slip. It is most likely to have come from southern Gaul and probably dates from the 1st or 2nd century AD. The sides are slightly convex and there is a transverse groove near the lowest point of the outer face. The sherd is relatively unabraded and measures 42.2mm long by 29.4mm wide and 6.3mm thick. It weighs 9.18g.

A uniface cast silver / white metal alloy token of probable late medieval / post-medieval date (1400 - 1650). The design on the upper face consists of a central square shaped pellet around which are four evenly spaced pellets form a cross- like shape. These pellets are contained by a raised circular ridge at the edge of the token. This ridge has four triangular wedges within it and these are aligned with the pellets in the cross.
