Copper alloy Roman zoomorphic brooch in the form of a seated greyhound. The overall form of the brooch is reminiscent of a Romano-British Dragonesque booch. The brooch is in good condition and remains intact apart from the pin on the reverse. The brooch is finely cast and the surface has been tinned to give a silver finish. The tinning covers the whole front surface and extends onto the rim of the hollow cast back. Device: on a plain background, a head in profile wearing a whimple or close fitting headdress and facing right. The the legend is bordered by a lines with cross hatching on either side. Measurements: face 18.83 mm diameter, handle 17.68 mm high.

Incomplete cast copper alloy oval buckle of probable Early Early-Medieval date (AD 450 – AD 600). Length 16mm, width 26mm and 2mm thick. Weight 2.67g.
The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear and the outside edge is slightly widened. The bar is narrowed and off-set and is also convex at the front and flat at the rear. The pin is missing and there is no evidence for wear by the pin on the bar or the frame. The piece is corroded and has bronze disease. However, there are traces of a mid-green patina on both faces. No evidence for burning or melting.

A cast copper-alloy dagger scabbard chape dating to the late medieval or early post-medieval period. The image provided (see notes, below) depicts the front-piece (traditionally a relatively thick cast element), but does not show the thinner backplate which would have been attached using solder. It is therefore uncertain that this backplate survives.
