22 Roman grey ware sherds. There are 20 body sherds, 1 base sherd from a small beaker and 1 everted square-sectioned rim sherd. Within the 20 body sherds 3 are decorated. One has white painted decoration - a circular motif; one has incised horizontal lines (?Alice Holt beaker); 1 has linear stamped decoraion of a band of small rectangles.

Four body sherds of Roman colour coated ware, possibly New Forest colour coated ware. The sherds range from red to pale grey fabric with a black colour coat on one or both surfaces. Only one sherd is decorated. The sherd appears to be indented with a comb stamped decoration running vertically along the indent. This is possibly from an indented beaker. If the sherds are New Forest colour coated ware then the date range would be 260-370.

Rim sherd of a thin walled earthen ware vessel of probable medieval date (1200-1550). This sherd is very worn and probably comes from the body of either earthen ware storage jars or cooking pot. The fabric is relatively hard with a number of angular and sub-angular quartz, grit, and broken burnt pottery inclusions. The fabric colour is a grey mid orange. There is no evidence of glaze or decoration on the outer edge of the vessel. The diameter of the vessel can be estimated from the curvature of the rim - this would be approximately 140mm (14cm). The sherd weighs 6.09 grams.
