Very worn Roman nummus of the House of Valentinian, dating 364-378. The coin was struck in copper alloy and is dull brown in colour with a green patina on the relief surfaces. The right facing bust on the obverse is very worn, and the legend is completely illegible. The reverse type is Victory walking holding a wreath. The reverse legend is worn, but would have read SECVRITAS PRIPVBLICAE see Reece and James 1986 figure 141. The mint mark has worn from the reverse. The coin is 13.89mm in diameter, 1.66mm thick and weighs 1.12 grams.
