A medieval silver penny of Henry II (1154-89), short cross class 1b; mint: York, moneyer: Willelm. Ref: Wren 1992: 32,36.
Medieval Silver penny of Henry II, 20mm in diameter, 0.75mm thick with a weight of 1.26 grams. The coin has been 'un-bent' which has caused a slight crack in its centre, it is also worn on each side in the centre only. Overall it is in good condition and unusually has its outer edge intact.

Only Canterbury and London are possibilities according to North's tables, but it looks much more like London according to the gap between the upright and the final N.
