An incomplete copper alloy Romano-British trumpet brooch. The foot is missing, as is some of the bow and most of the catchplate. The bow is hemispherical in section with a flat back. The bow is decorated with geometric mouldings above and below the acanthus decoration; the moulding above has the remains of enamelling; some appears red but mainly the colour is uncertain. The bow is straight until just above the acanthus, when it bends to form an angle of slightly less than 90 degrees. Roman Aesica type brooch with spring mechanism. This is cast in two pieces (the upper part of the bow and the foot/backplate/wings) and joined together with two copper alloy rivets which can be seen on the reverse - one through the centre of the brooch (from the central circular feature to the backplate) and the other from the head of the bow to the middle of the wings. An incomplete post-medieval hooked tag. The trefoil plate had an integral triangular loop. Two of the trefoil petals are openwork and there is a flower at the base of the triangular loop. The hook is incomplete. The surviving length of the hooked tag is 28.8mm, the width is 17.2mm and the weight is 1.61g.

Fragment of pin, probably copper-alloy. Only part of the very narrow circular-sectioned shaft survives, which is now creamy grey in colour. There are traces of green staining at one end. It is 23.79mm long, has a diameter of 1.45-1.68mm and weighs 0.29g.Though unclassifiable and undatable, it is probably Roman.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy axehead [probably a palstave] dating to the Bronze Age. The fragment is wedge shaped with an expanded blade measuring 45mm across. The blade edge is intact. The axehead is broken below the blade revealing a hollow, cast interior. The breaks are worn suggesting ancient damage. The surface of the axehead is corroded and pitted with a green to brown patina. The fragment measures 29mm in length and has a maximum thickness of 17mm.
