Copper alloy brooch, Trumpet variant type, described by Hattatt as Disc and Trumpet (Hattatt 1985, 113). Missing pin, damaged headloop, spring, catchplate and foot; areas of corrosion; bow bent. The head has a marginal incised line and inlaid single spots and centre line - the inlay is very corroded and dark grey in colour, ?niello. Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Small rather thick coin (diam 11.5mm, thickness varying c.1.8 to 2.5mm), slightly dished and almost certainly Iron Age. Metal probably silver but discoloured. The reverse makes most sense as a horse to right, in the style of Icenian Pattern-Horse types with a double mane and simplified body but the obverse has a couple of high relief spots which make no sense as an Iceni design. Perhaps heat damaged?
