Armorial Mount from Horse Harness. Shield-shaped with perforated rectangular lug projecting from upper edge and remains of broken perforated projection at base (32 x at least 48mm), surviving lug is decorated with incised rocker-arm lozengy lines, and there is an engraved line around the border of the shield. The shield bears the arms Azure a lion rampant to sinister within a bordure Or. Of uncertain attribution. 13th century.

Medieval copper alloy belt or harness mount. Lozengiform (24mm x 24mm) with counter-relief decoration. A saltire and a square formed of pellets lie within a plain square and around a central dot. Five rounded lobes on each edge. Stub of square-section attachment spike on reverse. Very similar to an example from Devon (Read 2001, 27 and 32, no.251). 15th - early 16th century.

Incomplete stud, end of round-section shank (length more than 15mm) and outer parts of head missing. The surviving centre of the head is white-metal coated and slightly convex. It is decorated in low relief with a cross and saltire with a common centre, two tiny pellets in each of the eight interstices, all within a circle.

Copper alloy spur. Incomplete and formed from two separate elements. The gilt D-section sides are very distorted, and their terminals are missing. They expand to 11mm in width, meeting at a lozengiform moulding at the centre of which is riveted a shank. This must be the base of the (missing) neck. A small example, for a child's use.

Medieval gilt copper alloy disc-on-pin brooch, a ring with sloping sides and a pair of opposed grooves on the underside. There is no pin constriction.
Base external diameter 32mm, internal diameter 29mm, top external diameter 29mm, internal diameter 26mm. Thickness 4.5mm. The outer and upper surfaces are decorated with four evenly spaced sub-triangular areas with edges defined by ribs. Each one is filled with horizontal lines of punched dots. Between the four an engraved inscription is repeated fourfold: INRC (the N's retrograde). The upper surface is decorated with punched annulet…

Incomplete knob, probably a top knob, of a Group V florid cruciform (29mm x 17mm). Only one short length of the outer edge is original, the rest being broken away, as are the sides and inner edge where the knob would have joined the headplate. Thus none of the florid animal ornament is present. The short sides of a rectangular panel next to the junction are also intact. All breaks are ancient. Punched annulets follow the edges of the moulding that flares to the outer edge. The very distinctive rectangular panel can be compared with those on a brooch from Sleaford (Aberg 1926, fig. 84)…
