Medieval copper-alloy terminal from a knife handle, 17mm long, 12mm wide, 8mm thick and with a weight of 6.77grams. It has a brown patina with dark green corrosion product in places. The object is ovoid in cross-section, and represents a horse's hoof complete with shoe. The underside is decorated with two rows of three circular depressions, seperated by an incised line, indicating the shoe.
