medieval copper alloy buckle plate, 25mm long, 15mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The buckle weighs 3.18grams and has a reddish patina. The object is encrusted with a brownish green corrosion product and is slightly bent. It is rectangular in shape and has a circular fixing hole in the two corners of its short edge. The surface is decorated with at least two sets of incised parallel lines, 2mm apart, which are arranged at 90o angles to each other and 45o from the edge. Medieval copper-alloy terminal from a knife handle, 17mm long, 12mm wide, 8mm thick and with a weight of 6.77grams. It has a brown patina with dark green corrosion product in places. The object is ovoid in cross-section, and represents a horse's hoof complete with shoe. The underside is decorated with two rows of three circular depressions, seperated by an incised line, indicating the shoe. Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, 29mm in diameter, 12mm thick and with a weight of 59.8grams. The whorl is circular on from and bi-conical in cross section. It is undecorated and roughly cast with a cream patina. It has a pronounced ridge,6mm wide, around its centre and from that it slopes sharply to the central hole, 8mm in diameter. The whorl fits Walton Rogers Form C which she dates to 1100-1500AD

Medieval copper-alloy seal matrix of pointed-oval shape, 30mm long, 18mm wide, 1mm thick and weighing 5.55g. The object is in fair condition, having damaged edges, and has a brown patina. The central motif is a lion rampant facing right on the matrix (so would be facing left on the impression), surrounded by a border groove outside which is an inscription 4mm wide. The inscription is difficult to make out, but probably begins S' RICA... (Seal of Richard?) There is no initial mark. Medieval copper alloy one piece spur buckle, 28mm long, 13mm wide, 2mm thick with a weight of 2.40grams. The object consists of a triangular sheet with a curved wide end. There is an oval cut out forming the buckle, with a D shaped section, which has a further small circular cut out on its inner edge to accomodate the pin. The buckle has one rivet just below the pin recess and tapers to a point below this. The object has small traces of gilding on its surface.
