Two sherds of Cistercian ware pottery - dark purple-red fabric, with thick shiny dark purple-brown/black internal and external glaze. One cup (or possibly tyg) base sherd with one handle scar near the bottom, and some sand adhering in a patch of glaze on the underside, weight 65.02g. One tyg or cup rim, plain rim with a ridge c.18mm from the top, 15.60g. 16th/17th century.

Three sherds from three separate earthenware vessels, two rim sherds, one body sherd, Midlands purple ware, probaby 16th-17th century. Hard, dense fabric with some patchily applied brown shiny glaze on Rim 2, oxidised fired, quartz and white and red non-crystalline inclusions, pimply appearence to exterior. Fragment of earthenware amphora base, with four concentric ridges running parallel from the base upwards, and fossilised marine organisms on the surface, indicating that it has been under water for some time. The fabric has been high fired so that it is hard, almost like stoneware, with traces of copper green glaze on the interior of the vessel, and inclusions which, along with its shape, suggest that it was used for olive oil and made in Seville in the late 16th to mid 17th century.
Hurst, Neal & Van Beuningen (1986), illustrate a similar example on page 65, Fig.29, No.81.

Two joining fragments of the base of a Delftware charger. There is one pierced hole in the base ring. The decoration on the upper surface is of a central double rosette with sprigs of foliage and semi-circular swags containing solid ovals. Tin-glazed earthenware, with blue on off-white background. There appears to be a mark or signature on the base but this is indistinct.
