Worn Roman dupondius of Maximinus, dating from 235AD to 238AD. The obverse of the coin has a right facing bust which is extremely worn. The legend is also worn and illegible except for the letters -MIN-. The worn reverse of the coin depicts a standing figure which is most likely Genius holding a patera (dish) and a cornucopia. The legend and mint mark on the reverse are completely illegible. The coin was struck in copper alloy and the surface now has a dull brown patina with small patches of light green corrosion. The coin measures 26.11mm in diameter and is 2.93mm thick.
