Spherical, annular, cobalt blue glass bead with a trailed white glass paste pattern and a central hole with a diameter of 4 mm. White opaque glass threads have been coiled around the blue glass bead and then marvered. The white threads were then pulled upwards to create this wave pattern. The bead compares in size and shape to an example in Crummy (1983) on page 33, Fig.34, No.617, in colour to No.562, and in style of decoration to Fig.33, Nos.543 & 546 which both have marvered trails and are dated to the Roman period. Paul and Charmian Woodfield (see notes, below) write: 'Base metal finger-ring open on one side, and having enlarged snake head terminals. The interior has traces of silvering, suggesting that it was originally silvered all over. This is a well known Roman mass produced style of jewellery, which can occur in a variety of metals, including in gold (Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire - bracelet), silver, and bronze. Possible Roman bracelet. Thick cast copper alloy penannular object, flattened oval section, tapering towards the broken terminals. Diameter 57-59mm, width 16.4mm, thickness 5.5mm, weight 57.78g. This is peraps too heavy and rigid to be a bracelet. See PAS record LVPL 2351 for a similar object, identified as a Roman bracelet.

Copper alloy Roman zoomorphic brooch in the form of a seated greyhound. The overall form of the brooch is reminiscent of a Romano-British Dragonesque booch. The brooch is in good condition and remains intact apart from the pin on the reverse. The brooch is finely cast and the surface has been tinned to give a silver finish. The tinning covers the whole front surface and extends onto the rim of the hollow cast back.
