Incomplete copper alloy Iron Age to Roman Colchester type brooch. Missing the spring, pin and catchplate, it is extremely corroded and most of the surface is missing. Small flat wings. The bow back is slightly convex, the front rounded and tapering to a point, with no surviving decoration. Surviving length 47mm, surviving width 13.5mm.

Copper alloy brooch, Colchester type. The brooch is corroded, missing half the spring and pin, the catchplate is damaged and bow and one wing is very bent. The left hand wing (which may be incomplete) has two vertical grooves but nothing is visible on the other wing. The bow has a flattish back with slight facets at the edges, and the surface is rough with ?hammer/chisel marks. Copper alloy brooch, Langton Down variant type. Missing pin, most of catchplate; fairly corroded especially along lower bow edge. The spring is enclosed within the spring cover except for small gaps at the back; the spring cover has single grooves at the terminals. The bow is a flat strip with no decoration and very slightly tapered. The catchplate stub shows that there was a single triangular hole. Length 37.5mm, width 20mm. Very similar to Camulodunum (Hawkes & Hull 1947) no. 97.

The bow has a deep back with partially flattened centre ridge and a similar shape front giving a lozenge-shaped section, narrowing from 4mm wide at the bow apex to the circular section rod, 1.5mm across, of the spring and the foot. Copper alloy brooch fragment, probably from a La Tene I type. Most of the bow arch and part of the foot with catchplate survive. The bow arch is a slightly squared circle in section and has has two grooves incised along the the front at the top of the arch. The lower bow is slightly flattened, with a narrow simple catchplate groove to right. The end is probably a break (the foot normally curves up and back) with damage just above. Bow width 3.5mm, surviving length 29mm.

Copper alloy brooch fragment, Rosette type. Upper half only, missing pin; corroded and damaged, especially the centre disc. The spring cover is open at the back and closed at the ends. The arched upper bow has a thick centre moulding, except for the basal section which is smooth, and joins a circular plate with traces of concentric ribs. Width 20mm, surviving length 31mm. This is Camulodunum type X class C, cast in one body (Hawkes & Hull 1947, Pl XCIII, no.79 but this differs in having the disc join the spring cover).

There is some corrosion on the brooch.

Fragment of a copper alloy brooch, Rosette (Thistle) type. Only part of the upper bow survives and surfaces are corroded. The arched front upper bow has traces of longitudinal grooves. Behind it the back plate joins the spring cover and the base of the bow arch, and there are traces of a row of raised triangles below the junction with the bowarch. Surviving length 20mm, surviving width 14mm. As Hattatt no. 790, both in size and construction.
