A flint thumbnail scraper which probably dates from the early Bronze Age. The scraper has been made from a small regular flake, from which the bulb of percussion has been removed. There are fint ripples on the ventral surface and a number of flaking scars on the dorsal surface. The edges of the dorsal surface has been retouched all around the distal end and partially along both sides, probably by pressure flaking. The mottled light and dark grey flint has a mid gloss patina. Dimensions: 30.63mm by 23.72mm by 4.72mm Weight: 5.08g

An Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged flint arrowhead. The arrowhead has been made from a flake, which was invasively retouched on both sides by pressure flaking. The arrowhead has a tang but no protruding barbs. Its small size, light weight and large length to breath ratio place it as a Sutton type (Butler 2005, pp. 162-3). The light brownish-cream flint has a low-gloss patina.

Part of a triangular perforated knife or hog-backed knife, of late Bronze Age date. The rather obtuse cutting edges are typical of these objects (pers. comm. Stuart Needham). The object would have originally been the shape of a squat isosceles triangle, with the cutting edge on the long side. In the centre there would have been an oval or rounded triangular perforation. The surviving fragment represents less than a third of the original artefact. In its present state it measures 31.31mm in length and weighs 15.99g. The maximum thickness is 6.47mm. The object has a heavy dark green pati…

1 sherd of organic tempered pottery. Dark grey reduced core with brownish surfaces. Large voids left by the organic temper (plant material).Body sherd. Identified as Late Bronze Age to Early Iron Age by Lorraine Mepham. There is also a slim possibility that this is Saxon in date, although on balance this is thought less likely.

Large, crudely flaked flint scraper. Made on a thick, secondary flake of mottled grey-brown and white flint. It has a mid-gloss patina two patches of yellowish nodule cortex on the dorsal surface. On the ventral surface is a large, scarred bulb of percussion. The striking platform has been flaked away. The dorsal surface has one main flaking scar with concoidal void at one end and several smaller scars. Around half of the circumference(on the thickest part of the scraper) has been coarsely and steeply flaked to produce working edge. Slightly worn and tumbled by ploughing.

A complete Early Bronze Age cast copper alloy thin-butted flat axehead. The body of the axe flares out into a crescent-shaped blade, although the cutting edge has been lost due to corrosion. The butt (33.84mm in width) curves slightly, but is also corroded. The axe shows some pitting on each surface but it is otherwise in good condition, with a rich greenish-brown patina. The body thickens in the middle so that the shaft sides have an elongated diamond shape, each with a longitudinal ridge in the centre. Another very slight ridge can be seen across the centre of the object, at its thic…

A cast copper alloy chisel blade of probable Bronze Age date. Any collar and/or tang has been broken off the blade. The object has a rectangular profile which tapers to a flat, slightly curving blade. The edges are squared. On both of the flat sides, a groove runs along the object; on one side it is fairly central, but on the other it runs along one edge, making the profile more triangular towards the proximal end. The object is similar to Bronze Age chisels such as NMS-9A9212 and NMS-083CF3, both from Norfolk.

Flint knife. A late Neolithic toEarly Bronze Age plano-convex type. A large flint flake with a triangular section and regular pressure flaking around the entirety of the edge on the dorsal surface. The pressure flaking radiates from a thick, slightly off-centre spine. The ventral surface is otherwise unworked and retains the bulb of percussion. The striking platform has been removed by the pressure flaking. Patchy matt grey-brown and dark brown flint with a mid-gloss patina. A patch of white nodule cortex remains on the dorsal surface.
