The form is close to that of Whitehead 2003, 99, no. 618, but on the edge there is a moulded pin notch flanked by a pair of ribs. Very close to an example from Redgrave, Suffolk (NMS-72D865). Estimated length 38mm. Estimated width 25mm. c.1660 - c.1720.

The edge is 4.5mmm wide and 2.5mm thick. 16th - 17th century.

Width (of the central boss) 8.5mm. Loop 18 x 5mm internally. 2nd - 3rd century.

Post-medieval copper alloy buckle frame, double-looped, both loops ovoid, one badly distorted. Two pairs of iron stained projections in the centre must have restricted the movement of the pin along the bar. These are an unusual feature, cf. an example from Sussex (SUSS-CD61D3). The sides, edges and bar of flat cross-section and as a result the front and back faces are indistinguishable. The whole object is very lightweight, thickness 1.5mm, weight 3.6g. 23 x 31mm. 17th century.
