Broad period: MEDIEVAL

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Cast lead-alloy cloth seal dating from the late medieval or early post-medieval period. IT appears to be a folded over two-part/disc seal which would have a disc with a spike on one side and a circle (disc without centre) on the other side. In sealing the cloth, one would fold it over, spike through the centre of the circle and then stamp/seal it with a stamp. The number on the obverse might possibly read '60', but this is uncertain.
