Perhaps a cast copper alloy (bronze) fragment from a socketed axe head of Later Bronze Age Date (1150-800 BC). The fragment consists of a small piece from the socket of the axe with the edge and lower half broken away, and the breaks are relatively worn and similarly patinated to the rest of the artefact suggesting damage in antiquity.The length is 44mm, width 20mm, thickness 18mm and weight 61.28g.

Cast copper alloy buckle of Medieval date, c.1350-1450. Oval shaped beveled frame with forked spacer. The spacer consists of two prongs which extend from the back of the frame. These prongs would have originally been covered by a composite plate. The buckle is in excellent condition and is complete with pin. Find recorded from images supplied by North West MDC. A silver coin; a 2 Stuivers coin of the Overyssel Province of the Netherlands. It dates from either 1612-1634 or 1677-1681. The date is under the legend on the reverse, but the coin has been struck off centre and it is illegible. It is probably KM 14 or KM 48. It has a diameter of 19.01mm, thickness 0.76mm, weight 1.13g. A fragment of cast, copper alloy pot leg, probably from a cooking pot such as a cauldron or skillet. The outer surface is convex, the inner surface concave. Both surfaces carry traces of a dark, sooty material, suggesting burning. Only the foot of the leg survives. It is 31.5mm long, 30.3mm wide and 16.8mm thick. It weighs 46.73gm. See Geake 2001. It is probably medieval in date.

A corroded copper alloy Roman coin; an As of an uncertain emperor (probably 41 - 260 AD). The reverse shows a standing, draped female figure facing right. Her right hand is raised and in her left she holds a cornucopia, suggesting that this is a representation of Providentia. The legends are illegible. It is 28.2mm in diameter and 3.7mm thick. It weighs 11.02gm.

A cast, lead alloy spindle whorl, probably medieval or early post medieval, c. 1100-1550. It is circular and plano convex with a large central perforation. There is a small circular hole in the wall of the perforation, presumable to fix the whorl to the spindle. The whorl is decorated on both faces. The decoration consists of a small panels (seven on one side, eight on the other) delineated by raised lines. Each panel contains one or more pellets up to a maximum of four. It is 31.3mm in diameter and 10.9mm thick. It weighs 42.71gm. A similar example is SWYOR-0CC902 on the PAS database…
