A fragment of a silver denarius of uncertain emperor, probably dating to the early third century AD (Reece period 10 to 11). The fragment is too small to identify the reverse type although it depicts a figure standing left. Probably Mint of Rome. This coin has been deliberately cut and is a feature seen on many of the coins from this assemblage. It is possible that this represents a ritual or votive act.

Measures 16-17mm, weighs 2.29g, die axis 6, worn with serious edge damage. This appears to be a cast forgery, plated on copper alloy. The obverse is of Geta, the reverse as above Caracalla 80.
