A slightly worn 8th-century probably base silver early-medieval secondary sceat of Series M, uncertain sub type, uncertain English mint (c. 720 - c. 725 AD; cf. EMC 1020.0364 = Mack 1973, ref. 364 for unusual obverse). This coin has some patches of green copper-alloy corrosion product on both surfaces suggesting that the silver is debased.

A very worn and slightly bent 17th-century base silver post-medieval threepence issued by colony of Massachusetts, North America, 'Pine tree' type, dated 1652 AD on the coin (KM# 11/12). Though dated '1652', such coins tend to be attributed to the period c. 1667 - c. 1674 AD. All 'pine tree' issues show the date 1652 owing to the fact that the colony understood it had no rights to mint coinage, perhaps wanting to create the illusion it only minted during the period immediately after the Civil War. A corroded and incomplete 3rd-century, possibly irregular, base silver Roman denarius of Caracalla, 'VIRTVS AVGG', Rome mint (c. 201 - c. 206 AD; cf. R.I.C. 149; Reece issue period ). This coin has lost around a seventh of its flan in a curved circumferential loss. The reverse has suffered from corrosion while the obverse remains crisp.
