An incomplete cast copper alloy whistle of post-medieval date. The whistle is sub T-shaped in plan with a hollow, circular section. One terminal is cast in the design of an exotic bird while the other has been lost to an old break. The object is possibly a hawking whistle.
The metal has a mid reddish-brown patina and is worn. The whistle is 67.7mm long, 33.9mm wide, 9.2mm thick and weighs 30.9g.

An incomplete cast lead whistle of modern date. The whistle is a hollow cone with open apex and a sub-triangular section removed to act as the sound hole. A casting seem is present along the two sides of the whistle and it is moulded with a design consisting of two ovate elements, giving the appearance of eyes. To either side of the "eyes" are two semi-circular designs which is repeated in retrograde on the bottom just in front of the sound hole.
The metal has a mid greyish white colour and is worn. The whistle is 15.8mm long, 13.9mm wide, 7.8mm thick and weighs 2.9g.

One face is decorated with a central recessed circular cell within which is an indeterminate lozenge shaped design. An incised letter S is present at each quarter. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal is a mid brownish-grey colour and is worn. The weight is 31.9mm in diameter, 7.2mm thick and weighs 53g

A complete cast lead steelyard weight of probable Roman date. The weight is sub-conical in plan with a wide rectangular base which tapers to a narrow apex. The remains of a copper alloy suspension loop project from the apex. There are no marks or decoration present on the object.
The metal is a mid whitish-brown colour and is worn. The weight is 28.3mm tall, 22.4mm wide at the base and weighs 46g.

A complete cast lead weight of uncertain date. The weight is conical with a wide circular base which tapers to a narrow apex. A central perforation runs longitudinally through the weight. There are no marks or decoration present on the object and there are no signs of an attachment loop.
The metal is a light brownish-white colour and is worn. The weight is 15.1mm tall, 14.2mm in diameter at the base and weighs 14.2g.
Due to a lack of contextual evidence and any diagnostic features it is not possible to date this object any more closely and may date from the Roman to post-medieval periods.

A complete cast copper alloy cup weight of medieval to post-medieval date. The weight is circular in plan with a slight raised rim. A small central indentation is present around which is a circular border. There are two worn impressions resembling flowers on this side however they are to worn to be certain of their type. The reverse is flat and undecorated except for a small bead of lead in the centre.
The metal has a mid blackish-green patina and is worn. The weight is 28.8mm in diameter, 6.5mm thick and weighs 26.1g.
This is most probably a single example from a nested set.

A complete cast lead weight of probable medieval to post medieval date. The weight has a square base with sides that taper towards the apex forming a pyramidal shape. An integrally cast suspension loop is present at the apex. The weight is undecorated and very crudely formed.
The metal is a light greyish-white colour and is worn. The weight is 28.6mm long, 17.3mm wide, 18.2mm thick and weighs 32.5g.
Such objects are difficult to date with any degree of certainty without contextual evidence or any diagnostic features but it is most likely to be of medieval to post-medieval date.

The weight appears to be undecorated however the degree of wear combined with numerous indentations may have rendered any decoration illegible.
