An incomplete cast copper-alloy small-long brooch of Anglo-Saxon date. It is missing the foot and pin due to old breaks but is otherwise complete. The headplate is flat and cruciform, with a central panel from which extend short arms with rectangular terminals. This creates two circular apertures at the top corners of the panel and semi-circular notches at the base of the headplate. A cast copper-alloy strap end of Medieval date. It is a folded strap end with the back shorter than the front and with no rivet holes. There are two rivet holes at the attachment end of the front face for seperately cast circular rivets with globular heads, both of which are present. There is an engraved border around the edge of the front face. The whole object is gilded. It measures 25.91mm in length, 18.29mm in width, 0.81mm in thickness and weighs 2.72g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 582).
