An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle frame of probable Post-Medieval date. Part of the outer edge and one side of the frame survives intact, the remainder of the buckle now missing due to old breaks. The surviving frame is rectangular in form and section with the remains of an integrally cast bar at one side. An incomplete cast copper-alloy asymmetrical double-looped buckle frame of Post-Medieval date. One loop is trapezoidal in form with thickened outer edge and moulded transverse grooves. The other loop is D-shaped in form and missing its outer edge due to old breaks. The loops are separated by an integrally cast bar that is triangular in section. The entire buckle measures 15.03mm in length, 16.95mm in width (incomplete), 2.33mm in thickness and 1.12g in weight. This is a small buckle frame of Post-Medieval date with a near identical example published from London (Egan, 2005: no. 101). …

The pin is seperately cast and is bent around the bar in an open loop. It is rectangular in section and tapers to a point. There is no decoration. It measures 33.38mm in length, 24.67mm in width, 1.91mm in thickness and weighs 4.98g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 333).

The frame is flat, rectangular in form with bevelled corners and an integrally cast central rectangular bar. The plate has rectangular frame recesses and pin slot, with single circular rivet holes in each corner. It measures 21.88mm in length (slightly bent due to post-depositional damage), 10.94mm in width, 0.53mm in thickness and 0.72g in weight. It is likely to date to the later Medieva or early Post-Medieval periods, c.14th-16th centuries AD.

On the outside of both sides of the frame is an oval knop which is flat backed and is decorated on the face. The decoration could be foliate or be a face but it is too worn to see clearly. It measures 47.29mm in length, 20.15mm in width, 2.34mm in thickness and weighs 5.76g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 8 with the outer edge and part of one side preserved, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. The side is D-shaped in section and curves towards the thickened outer edge. This has two large mouldings formed of oval shaped beads with transverse ridges to either side, between which is a slightly concave pin rest. The surviving fragment measures 30.97mm in width, 4.44mm in thickness and 2.81g in weight. It is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD.

The outside edge is decorated with two knops with a constriction between them which has three grooves, the centre of which would have acted as a pin rest.
