Conical cast lead alloy weight of uncertain date. It has a flat base, tapering, slightly faceted, sides a broken top point and a circular hole through the centre from top to base. The central perforation measures 2.6mm in diameter at the top and bottom and narrows in the centre. The height is 22.1mm, diameter 19.4mm at the bottom. It weighs 28.69 grams. Plain weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period onwards for a wide variety of uses and are hard to date precisely although most are late Medieval - Post Medieval

Two pieces of undatable copper alloy probable metalworking debris, although the larger of the two pieces has possible signs of burning as well as form, and conceivably may have once been an object. However it may also be waste from the metal working process, solidifying against something with shape. The larger measures 51.07x19.75x8.03mm and weighs16.49g. On one face it appears to have three linear levels, possibly 'folds'. To the reverse it is mostly flat with a diagonal ridge at one end and another fold at the other. The smaller, possibly also with signs of burning but rather more…

A fragment of an unidentified copper alloy object. The object comproses of three faceted sides, the external faces of which are decorated with punched dots arragned in ring-and-dot and other unidentifiable patterns. Internally, there is a concretion adhering to the inside of the object's wall. This appears to be small flecks of flint or stone and is reminiscent of prehistoric pottery fabric, having a 'biscuit-like' quality. The metal has a tinny tint to it. Further research is continuing to try and identify a function and date for this object.

A complete but distorted lead alloy finger ring. The ring is small, possibly for a child or little finger, and has a raised circular bezel that contains a dark blue galss or paste. Either side of the bezel on the shoulders is two smaller circular mouldings that may have once also contained inserts. The band extends from beneath the latter and is plain and circular in section. The ring is similar in form to some Roman finger rings, however the size, material used and quality may suggests a much later date, possibly the post-medieval or even early-modern period.

Lead Weight. Cast cylindrical weight. Four gouges appear on one end. The mass may indicate this object to represent five units of 4.07gms, which was a sub-unit in the early medieval Scandinavian system of mensuration; if less precisely calculated, it may alternatively relate to an Anglo-Saxon system employing modules of 3.1gms, in which case it would be approximately 7 units. The match with the former system is closer, though neither seems to relate to the marks on the object which are without discernible significance. Suggested date: if a weight, Early Medieval, 850-1100. The form…
