Modern copper alloy finger ring made from a George VI penny. The ring is D-shaped in cross-section, convex on the outside and flat on the inner side. The outer side is corroded but appears to have no surviving decoration. On the inner side is the remains of the coin's design. The inscription can be seen, reading ONE PENNY with the helmet of Britannia between the words, and then the date: 1940. It seems to have been deliberately shaped to retain these elements of the design. It is 20.0mm in diameter, 4.9mm wide and 1.4mm thick, it weighs 2.21 grams.
Given the date of the penny, this…

Modern white-metal wire finger ring. The hoop is formed of two narrow strips of wire, which are twisted together into three knots on the bezel, a larger complex knot in the centre flanked by two smaller ones. The wire has a square cross-section.
This ring was examined by the British Museum to decide whether it should be reported as Treasure. Barry Ager commented that the square section of the wire suggests probable machine manufacture; Judy Rudoe commented that it was likely to be not earlier than the 19th century. In addition, the ring is similar to KENT-697734 (2013T52), which w…

A silver finger ring in the form of a strap or miniature belt. It has fractured across the band at one point, no gilding is evident. The hoop, which has a fracture across it, has a band width of 6.3mm, an internal diameter of 22.2 x 19mm and weight of 5.844g.
The finger ring has a form typical of a nineteenth century date. The popular form was made by a range of manufacturers, including Spiers (Hart 1978, 133). Details of the strap slide vary, and some have buckle loops. This ring is of nineteenth-century date and therefore as it is not at least 300 years old is not treasure under …

An incomplete, broken and mis-shapen silver finger ring of very modern date (1910-1945 AD) relating directly to the Second World War. The hoop was D-shaped in cross-section, flaring at the shoulders to form an oval decorated bezel. The bezel is inlaid with an enamelled design consisting of a centrally positioned cross pattee, the interior of which is recessed and filled with black enamel.
