An assembly of Mesolithic dating between c8300BC and c4500BC), milky white, translucent, flint microliths and microlithic debitage. The largest piece is only 8.5mm by 3.5mm, the smallest 4.5mm by 3mm. There are 10 fragments in total, some showing evidence of secondary working. They appear to be the result of the knapping or retouching of one tool, possibly while sheltering in the lee of the boulder by which they were found. A complete Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic lithic implement. This implement is sub-rectangular in plan and has been made on a large secondary blade. The dorsal surface has five main flake removals and has been crudely worked at the distal end to form a cutting edge. The ventral surface is uneven and knapping features are lost due to thermal fracturing over most of the surface. One side has an area of buff cortex. Bulb of percussion on the ventral face, multiple arises on the dorsal face, highly arched in profile. irregular break at the distal end. The flint has a white patina but in some areas the original pale grey-buff colour shows through. 36.2mm long, 11.5mm wide and 3.8mnm thick; it weighs 1.71 grams.

Lithic Implement: A single chunky blade fragment or possibly part of a multi-platform core. The object is sub-triangular in cross-section. The blade has been lightly retouched on each long edge and cars of earlier removals are evident running vertically along the upper face of the object. The flint is a dark to mid brown colour with a silky smooth patina. It can be dated from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic period, (8300BC- 2100BC).

A flint burin probably from the Mesolithic period (8300 - 3500 BC). It is formed on a secondary flake which is sub rectangular in plan and has cortex on most of the dorsal face. Small snapped coarse flint or chert blade or bladelet of later Mesolithic date (6000BC - 3500BC). It has been struck from a core and has the generic crested appearance. The blade is snapped and shows no sign of retouch on either tip or long edges. The underside / ventral face shows conchoidal rippling. The blades measure 19.3mm length, 11.5mm width, is 2.5mm thick and weighs 0.53 grams.

A pyramidal shaped core dating to the Mesolithic period (6500 - 3500 BC). The core is triangular in profile and irregular in plan. A distinct knapping platform is present on the upper edge of the core with areas of multiple blade removals in a single direction around the edge. The small size of this core suggests that it was discarded as waste. There are areas of hinge fracturing near the base. The flint is a light grey colour. The core measures 25.4mm in length, 22.2mm width, is 20.6mm thick and weighs 14.63 grams.

Two irregular fragments of a core dating to the Mesolithic period (6500 - 3500 BC). The fragments are broadly rectangular in plan , profile and irregular rectangular sections. Around the edge of the core fragments are areas showing multiple blade removals in several le different directions. On the ventral faces clear platforms of percussion and conchoidal ripples are present. The flint varies in colour being grey in one example and a milky white coloured patina in the other. The core fragments have a bulk weight of 3.57 grams.

Three blades of tertiary debitage (from the third / final phase of tool making) of Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC). The three blades are all struck on poor quality flint cores which vary in coarseness and colour, all being glacial or riverine derived, some possibly being chert rather than flint.
