A small copper alloy single loop D-shaped buckle frame with a sheet copper-alloy plate and copper-alloy wire pin still attached. The buckle has a pointed outer edge with a grooved pin rest. There also appears to be a decorative groove at either end of the bar, dividing it from the frame, although this may not be deliberate as the buckle is not well made. The frame is 21mm in length,13mm wide by 2mm thick. The plate shows signs of damage, with an apparently fragmentary edge. It was made by folding a strip of copper alloy sheet around the bar and cutting a pin slot. The plate is now …

A Medieval or Post Medieval incomplete cast copper alloy double loop oval buckle, c. 1350-1650 AD. The remains consist of a buckle frame measuring 21.29mm long, 17.70mm wide, 2.05 mm thick and weighing 1.47 grams. Neither surface has further decoration and the reverse surface is flat. Iron corrosion on the central pin bar suggests that the missing pin was fashioned from iron. Cf. Whitehead 2003, p53.

A cast copper alloy buckle frame of post Medieval date. The pin is missing and likely lost to antiquity. The obverse consists of ten concave roundels around a sub-annular frame with a central pin bar. The roundels exhibit the remains of an adhesive which the recorder suggests tentively contained paste stones now lost to antiquity. The reverse is largely plain. The buckle closely resembles an example in Ross Whitehead's Buckles 1250-1800 (2003) No 282. The frame is complete and measures 28.26mm Long, 32.90 mm Wide & 3.28mm Thick. The surface is abraded with an incomplete brown-green patina.
