A fragment of a post-Medieval openwork buckle frame (c. 1720-c. 1790 AD). The fragment is moulded at the front and flat at the rear. At the front it is in the form of a flower head with six evenly spaced pellets representing petals with a similar pellet at the centre. Two small protrusions are portions of openwork. There are traces of gilding at the front. 15.49 x 8.99 x 2.69mm. Weight: 1.37g.

The outer edge of the rectangular loop is lobed and cusped and has a transverse groove on its upper surface which extends the full width. Each oval loop is of similar shape and size and at the front the loops are bevelled on the inside. At each outer edge there is a moulded flower-head design of five petals and a central pellet. It has a flat moulded decorated upper face and the lower face is plain and convex. The decoration consists of an inner and outer border with similar decoration of contiguous rings and flower-like motifs. Above the spindle hole there is a rosette.
