Sheet gold strip that has been rolled into a cylinder, the edges are overlap with a slight gap. Below the gap in the middle of the body is an off centre hole 0.6mm in diameter. The outside edge is decorated with a series of transverse incised bands that cover the whole surface.

Treasure case 2012 T378: Acquired by Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum
One Iron Age pale gold stater, one silver stater and one base silver stater found in close proximity (within a 2-3m radius). The items were found in a ploughed field over several days. From the report of the finder the coins were scattered within the plough soil in a close concentration with no evidence of a container.

The coin is an uninscribed British Iron Age gold stater of the South Western series (attributed to the Durotrigian). The coin was produced in the Hampshire/Dorset/Wiltshire area in about 80-60 BC. It is of the "British B" or "Chute" type: ABC 746 (Cottam et al, Ancient British Coinage 2010, p. 57; see also Van Arsdell 1989, no 1205).
The front (obverse) shows a stylised wreath design; the back (reverse) a stylised horse.

A Post Medieval gold finger ring of 16th to 17th century date. The ring is decorated with a geometric grid pattern on the exterior containing significant remains of white enamel. Each square in the grid is appox 0.9mm wide. An inscription runs around the interior of the ring which appears to be in French ˜+PRENE + EN + GRE+". The inscription retains much of the original black enamel. The inscription may be translated "Accept this willingly".
Dimensions: The ring is 15.3mm in diameter, 3.0mm wide, 1.0mm thick and weighs 1.32 grams.

A Post Medieval gold finger-ring of late 17th century date. The ring has an oval bezel (9.5mm x 8.6mm) which is set with a faceted rock-crystal beneath which are traces of a gold monogram representing the initials of the deceased on plain black to Grey background. The monogram is faded, off center and difficult to read. Black enamel survives in the floral decoration on the shoulders and in the oblong cells decorating the underside of the bezel; each of these cells has a white enamel dot at the base. The rings hoop is D shaped in section, 1.28mm thick and has been bent out of shape.

A Medieval gold finger ring of probable 13th century date. The ring is stirrup-shaped set with a green stone (possibly glass or emerald). There are decorative bosses along the shoulders running along a raised ridge. The bosses have punched decoration giving them the appearance of clusters of granulation on one shoulder and stripes on the other: possibly intended to represent a vine with grapes, leaves and tendrils; or another floral design. Description: Post-medieval gold posy ring. A flat band inscribed on the interior with 'Hearts united live contented' followed by an unidentifiable maker's mark, DA with a crown above in a square shield with rounded corners. The hoop is slightly squashed due to damage.
Discussion: A gold posy ring with the same inscription, dated to 1768, is located at the British Museum (Registration number AF. 1270).

Description: A gold finger ring of Medieval date. It has a d-shaped hoop which is complete. It is decorated on the outside face with lozenges infilled with groups of pellets. It widens slightly to form a stirrup-shaped like bezel with a circular hole for a setting, which is missing. It is bent out of shape due to post-depositional damage.
Discussion: For comparison see a silver finger-ring from Ewell, Surrey (2005 T93) dated to the 13th Century.

Description: Small penannular ring, round-sectioned, with narrow stripes of yellow and paler gold. The decoration is very worn but clearly visible internally, close to one terminal. The ring comprises a gold covering over a base metal core. Some dirt and corrosion blocking gap between terminals.

An Iron Age uninscribed uniface gold stater, c. 60-20 BC. One side of the coin is undecorated, while the other depicts a triple-tailed horse facing right, wheel below and charioteer's arms above. The perimeter edges of the coin are missing, so further attributes are unavailable for identification. Listed as the Selsey Uniface type in Rudd (2010) 'Ancient British Coins', p. 47, No. 488. Rudd (ibid) mentioned that approximately 50 similar coins were discovered as part of the Climping, West Sussex hoard. Cf. VA 216, BMC 461-75.
