A rim sherd from an early Roman platter (c. 1st century AD). It is of a crude triangular form with breaks that are fairly abraded. It is very shallowly curved in profile. The rim is thickened (10mm) compared to the extant body (5.5mm). There is an external depressed band below the rim. Internally there is a thick ridge below the rim, below which two thin ridges. The platter is in imitation of Gallo-Belgic forms (Helen Rees pers. comm. 24 May 2012). The fabric is fairly fine and sandy. It has dark-grey outer surfaces with a lighter core.

The rim is thinned (7.0mm) compared to the extant body (9.5mm). The fabric is coarse and sandy. It has mid-/light-brown outer surfaces with a greyer core.

The fabric is fine and sandy with some possible mica inclusions. It is light/mid-grey in colour. There are low parallel ridges internally that might be throwing marks. Given the findspot it may have come from the kilns at Alice Holt (Helen Rees pers. comm. 24 May 2012).

An incomplete cast copper-alloy spur rowel of post-medieval date (c. 16th/17th century AD). The flat rowel originally had seven points, but three are now truncated. There are incised grooves radiating from the centre of the spur to the angle between each point, so that the rowel appears to comprise sub-lozenge-shaped elements. There is a broadly circular central perforation c. 2mm in diameter. The object has a dark-green patina with slight pitting in places. A slightly damaged, now incomplete cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle of post-medieval date (c. 17th century AD). The buckle is sub-rectangular in form and has rounded outer edges with central internal convex protrusions. There are slight spurs or knops projecting out from the sides of the frame just before each outer edge. A slightly corroded cast copper-alloy medieval strap-slide/loop (c. 14th century AD). The artefact is an elongated D shape with a collared globular knop at the centre of the outer edge. The collar is formed of a transverse ridge with a groove above and below. Through the inner edge is a central perforation within which a separated copper-alloy rivet survives in place.
