A worn copper-alloy lid from a Roman seal box of Andrews Type C2D6, with separately applied eagle mount. The object is circular with the vestiges of a protruding suspension loop. The lid has a lip to its lower surface so that it would rest snugly on the missing lower box; this is squashed slightly at one point. The front is decorated with a moulded border with a groove between this and the edge. Within there is a further groove and ridge before a central sunken field. Filling the field is a bird, probably an eagle, separately cast and riveted in place. The integral rivet can be seen on the underside of the lid within a slightly raised circle. The bird is moulded with wings, body and head of different heights. The head is set to the right when looking at it from the front. Any detailing beyond the moulding has been lost as a result of corrosion.
Diameter: 19.86 mm; Thickness: 3.55 mm
Similar examples can be found on this database: GLO-B305D6, WMID550. These show that this design was a relatively popular one, rendered with varying levels of proficiency, perhaps with different consumers in mind. However, the construction of this seal box lid, with a separately riveted (zoomorphic) motif, is relatively uncommon for the object type.

It has a raised design on one side consisting of a regular grid pattern. The other side is flat and plain. Diameter: 18.74mm. Weight: 5.11g.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally. They are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval to Modern in date (1250-1850 AD).

An incomplete copper-alloy medieval single-looped buckle of composite type with forked spacer dating to c. 1350 - 1450. The buckle is oval, tending towards circular, curving to a short point at the centre of its outer edge. The front of the frame is bevelled externally and internally either side of a flat surface. The pin is in situ, and made of basic, blunt wire construction. The prongs of the spacer are rebated slightly. They develop gradually and fairly crudely compared to other examples; on has been truncated before its tip.
Length: 28.48 mm; Thickness: 2.08 mm; Weight: 2.35 g
Composite buckles with forked spacer plates are generally dated to the mid 14th to early 15th centuries (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 79-80; fig. 48).

A corroded post-medieval copper-alloy dress hook, incomplete following an old break at the junction of plate and hook. The plate survives with an integral trapezoidal loop. It has a hollow-backed oval body. Within a pellet border is a classical style female bust facing left (when the loop is lowermost). A similar dress hook can be found illustrated in Read (2008, 94; no. 336), broken in a similar place, and classified as his Early post-medieval Class E, Type 3. This artefact has light-green and off-white corrosion product over red-brown metal.

Late medieval to post medieval cast uniface lead-alloy token of Powell Class 19. It is decorated on one side with a raised design of a quadruped within a plain line border, probably a stag with head lowered and antlers rising over the back, alternatively it is a long necked animal. The reverse has two straight incised lines crossing off centre.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally. They are therefore hard to date precisely and examples with simple designs could be medieval to late post medieval in date (c. AD 1250-1800).
