White Metal Possible Mount. Cast metal strip, broken in half, with upper curved edges and a straighter lower edge which suggest the object has been trimmed here, perhaps to remove an unwanted text or title. An embossed motif, which appears reversed on the back, comprises a cushion crown over four elongated leaves arranged as a saltire flanked by a pair of anchors on a ground of further similar leaves. The scheme recalls that of military or institutional badges. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1900. Length: 44.5mm, Height: 12.4mm, Thickness: 1.2mm, Weight: 4.19gms.
