A medieval silver coin: a half penny of Edward III (1327-77), probably Florin coinage (1344 - 1351), Withers' type 13, London mint. It is 14.3mm in diameter and 0.9mm thick. It weighs 0.56gm. A small section is missing from the flan between 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock on the obverse. The coin has a lombardic N with a forked right hand stroke, and angular Os.
Reference: North, volume 2, number 1132 and Withers' page 31, type 13 or 13a.
