A silver coin of Elizabeth I, London mint. The coin belongs to Elizabeth's second issue, and the mintmark (a long cross) dates it to 1580-1. Due to the degree of wear the denomination is uncertain, but is probably a penny or threepence.
The obverse has a bust with the legend [---] G.ROSA [---]. The reverse a square shield on long cross fourchee, the legend is too worn to distinguish.
