Roman brooch; cast copper alloy duck brooch with enamelled decoration, dating to the 2nd century. The head is missing, although the neck is still present, in the form of a narrow, curving shaft. The brooch is in the form of a sitting duck with its wings folded on its back. It has alternating bands of red and white enamel along the wings. The fixing for the pin is still present, on the underside of the brooch, near the duck's tail. Roman brooch; cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, West Midlands) type cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c. The brooch has broad, cylindrical wings with a plate on each end with a dot in the centre. The back of the head has a large lump of rust-coloured corrosion suggesting that the pin, which is now missing, was probably made of iron and has thus corroded away. Roman brooch; incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet brooch of 1st or 2nd century date. This fragment is missing its head but has the typical circular, flattened base terminal and decorative collar at mid-section which suggest that it probably originally had a trumpet-style head. The pin is missing but the catchplate is still present. The whole has a thick, even, grey-green patina over its surface. Length 38.50mm, width 8.53mm, depth 18.46mm, weight 5.22g. Early Roman brooch; cast copper alloy bow brooch of probable 1st century date. The brooch has a very small head with virtually no extant wings. The bow is a simple, tapering band with no foot decoration. It curves deeply out from the head. There is no extant decoration on the bow of the brooch. The loop of the hinged, copper alloy pin is still present, but the shaft of the pin is now missing. Length 34.69mm, width 9.98mm, depth 15.30mm, weight 4.21g.

Cast copper alloy flat, lozenge-shaped brooch length: 22mm; width: 23mm; thickness: 4mm; weight: 1.22g. The brooch has a flat-sectioned frame the sides have a rectangular border containing a line of five pellets, each corner is decorated with a series of smaller pellets. One of the corners has a circular hole for the pin. The back of the brooch is flat and undecorated. Overall, the brooch is in a slightly worn but fair condition with a dark green patina. This artefact dates to the 13th/ 14th century AD a similar example has been recorded on the database WMID-2CD406.

An incomplete copper-alloy Dolphin brooch length 22mm, width 25mm, thickness 8mm weight 4.78g. cylindrical wing which hold the pin support bar. Three sets of grooved lines run around the circumference of the wing. A narrow slot at the centre of the head's underside indicates the point at which the now-missing pin would have been hinged. There are two sets of vertical grooves at the top of the head, the rest of the bow is plain an tapers in width to the point where it is broken. The foot section is missing. This objects dates to 55-100AD

A late Iron Age – early Roman copper alloy Aucissa brooch (AD40-65). The pin (no longer present) hinged in a narrow tube formed from the top of the bow rolled back above the head plate. The bow is decorated with longitudinal grooves and traces of a white metal coating remain. The bow narrows to the foot and there is no foot plate. The shape of the bow is distorted.
